Sararak Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how plan275 ("we", "us") handles information in Sararak, an ambient sound app for iOS and Android (the "App").
- Effective date: 2026-10-20
- Version: 1.0
Summary
- The App has no sign-up or login. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, or precise location.
- To improve the App, we collect app usage statistics through Google's Firebase Analytics. These statistics are tied to a random identifier created when you install the App, not to your name or contact details.
- When the App crashes, we collect crash reports through Google's Firebase Crashlytics to find and fix the cause. Crash reports are not linked to your name or contact details, and cannot be turned off in the App.
- The App shows no ads, does not collect advertising identifiers (IDFA or Android Advertising ID), and does not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
- Your favorites and your last sound mix are stored on your device. Usage statistics record only the sound mix, by sound identifiers, when playback starts and when you save or apply a favorite.
1. Information we collect
1.1 App usage statistics (collected automatically)
When you use the App, the Firebase Analytics SDK automatically collects the following and sends it to Google.
| Category | Data |
|---|---|
| Identifier | App instance ID (a random value created when the App is installed; it changes if you delete and reinstall the App) |
| Device and app information | Device model, operating system and version, App version, device and App language, screen resolution |
| Approximate location | Country, region, and city, estimated from your IP address. Google states that it does not store the IP addresses used for this estimate |
| App activity | App launches, session start and engagement time, screen views (Sounds, Favorites, Settings, Open source licenses), selecting and removing sounds, play and pause, volume changes, saving, applying and deleting favorites, starting, finishing and cancelling the sleep timer, and links opened in Settings |
- Sounds are recorded only by the identifier of a sound included in the App (for example,
rain_greenhouse). When playback starts or you save or apply a favorite, the mix is recorded as a list of identifiers (for example,cicadas,rain_greenhouse) without volumes. The App has no free text input. - The App records screen views itself; Firebase's automatic screen reporting is turned off.
1.2 Crash reports (collected automatically)
The Firebase Crashlytics SDK in the App automatically collects the following and sends it to Google.
| Category | Data |
|---|---|
| Crash records | The error details (stack trace) when the App stops unexpectedly, and the App's state at that moment (App version, memory and storage use, whether the App was in the foreground, and similar). Sent the next time you open the App after a crash |
| Session information | Each time you open the App: when the App came to the foreground, a session ID (a random value), device model, operating system and version, and network connection type (such as Wi-Fi or cellular). Sent even if there is no crash |
| Identifiers | Crashlytics installation UUID and Firebase installation ID (random values created when the App is installed, used to count how many devices a crash affected) |
- Crash reports do not include your name, contact details, or other information that identifies you.
- Crash reports are needed to keep the App working reliably, so they cannot be turned off in the App. They are sent even if you turn off "Share usage statistics".
- If "Share usage statistics" is on, your App activity just before a crash (the App activity in Section 1.1) is attached to the crash record.
1.3 Feedback email
"Send feedback" in the App opens your email app. If you send us an email, we receive:
- Your email address, and the content and attachments of your message
1.4 Information we do not process
- Purchase information: Purchases and payments are handled by the Apple App Store and Google Play. We do not receive your name, payment method, or card details. We see only sales statistics provided by the stores (such as the number of sales and countries).
- Information stored on your device: Your favorites list (sound combinations and volumes) and your last mix stay on your device, and the list itself is never sent to us. Usage statistics record only the sound mixes described in Section 1.1.
- This information may be included in your device backups (such as iCloud) on iOS, and in Google backup and device transfer on Android if you have turned them on. These backups are stored in your Apple or Google account, and we cannot see them.
2. How we use information
| Information | Purpose |
|---|---|
| App usage statistics | To understand which features and sounds are used, improve the App, and find situations where problems occur |
| Crash reports | To find and fix the causes of crashes, and to check how stable the App is (such as the share of sessions without a crash) |
| Feedback email | To answer your questions and use your feedback to improve the App |
We do not use your information for any other purpose. If the purpose changes, we will let you know in advance and ask for consent where required.
3. How long we keep information
| Information | Retention period |
|---|---|
| App usage statistics: individual event records | 2 months from collection |
| App usage statistics: user-level data linked to the app instance ID | 14 months from the last time you used the App. The period restarts whenever you use the App again. We keep it this long to compare usage across the year |
| App usage statistics: aggregated reports | Totals that cannot identify individuals (such as daily user counts) may be kept without a time limit |
| Crash reports (crash records, session information, identifiers) | 90 days from collection |
| Feedback email | 1 year after your inquiry is resolved |
Google Analytics deletes event records and user-level data automatically when these periods end. Firebase Crashlytics starts removing crash reports from live and backup systems after 90 days.
4. Sharing and selling
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own purposes. We may disclose information when required by law, such as a valid request from a public authority.
5. Service providers and international transfers
We use the following service provider to process information on our behalf.
| Provider | Service | Location |
|---|---|---|
| Google LLC | Collecting, storing and analyzing app usage statistics (Firebase Analytics) | United States and other countries where Google operates data centers |
| Google LLC | Collecting, storing and analyzing crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics) | Same as above |
| Google LLC | Receiving and storing feedback emails (Gmail) | Same as above |
- Information is transferred over encrypted connections when you use the App (usage statistics and session information), when you open the App after a crash (crash records), or when you send an email (feedback).
- Google's privacy contact: https://support.google.com/policies/contact/general_privacy_form
6. Your choices and rights
- You can ask us to access, correct, delete, or stop processing your personal information by emailing the contact below. We will respond without undue delay.
- Because app usage statistics and crash reports are not linked to your name or contact details, we may not be able to find records that belong to you. If so, we will tell you.
- Deleting the App removes your favorites, last mix, app instance ID, and Crashlytics installation UUID from your device. If you reinstall it, new identifiers are created and are not linked to earlier statistics or crash reports.
- To stop the collection of usage statistics, turn off Settings > Privacy > Share usage statistics in the App. From then on, the App stops collecting and sending usage statistics and deletes the app instance ID and any unsent statistics from your device. All features keep working. Statistics already sent are deleted when the retention period in Section 3 ends. If you turn it back on, a new app instance ID is created.
- Crash reports cannot be turned off in the App. If you do not want them sent, you can delete the App.
7. Security
- We collect only the minimum usage statistics and crash reports needed, and have turned off advertising identifier collection. Crash reports do not include information that identifies you.
- Usage statistics, crash reports, and emails are sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
- Only the operator can access the Firebase console and the feedback mailbox, and both use two-step verification.
8. Children
The App is not directed to children under 14 (under 13 in the United States), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Region-specific information
California residents
- In the past 12 months we collected the categories described in Section 1: identifiers (app instance ID, Crashlytics installation UUID, Firebase installation ID), internet or other electronic network activity (app activity, crash records, session information), and approximate geolocation. We collect them from your device through the App, for the purposes in Section 2.
- We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
- You may request access to or deletion of your information as described in Section 6. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
- Do Not Track: The App does not respond to Do Not Track signals, because it does not track you across third-party apps or websites.
European Union, EEA and United Kingdom
The App is not offered in the European Union, the European Economic Area, or the United Kingdom.
Korea
For users in Korea, the Korean version of this policy, written under the Personal Information Protection Act, also applies.
